One of the strengths of the Altavista Area YMCA is the wide array of programs offered throughout the year. The YMCA tries to be responsive to the needs of the community and strives to offer programs of all kinds. Unlike YMCA's in larger communities, the YMCA in Altavista is asked to offer programs in almost every aspect of community life. If a program or activity is requested the YMCA tries to respond by offering a quality program. We encourage our members to offer suggestions of events, programs and activities that may be of interest to the people of the Altavista area. Below are some of the programs not affiliated with the major YMCA programming groups.
