Athletic Center - Gymnasium, Wellness Center, child watch, indoor track, group exercise room, locker rooms, conference room, multi-purpose room and administrative offices. Google Map and Directions Family Center - Junior Olympic swimming pool, child care facilities for children 16 months – seventh graders, HAGS playground and Premier tennis courts. The major programming areas of the Altavista Area YMCA are; child care, fitness, wellness, sports, aquatics, seniors and the Altavista Arts Council.

Welcome to the Altavista Area YMCA web site in Altavista, Virginia. The Altavista Area YMCA was founded in 1971 making the community of Altavista the smallest town in America with a YMCA. Today the YMCA encompasses almost three city blocks and over 65,000 square feet of facilities valued at over $6 million dollars. The physical complex consists of the Family Center built in 1972 and the Athletic Center constructed in 1994. |

Uncle Billy's Day Race......... The 2009 Uncle Billy's Two Miler was held Saturday June 13 at Altavista High School. Altavista High School cross country stand outs Andrew Rigler and Sarah Murphy captured the men's and women's titles. The 31st annual event saw 108 runners complete the two mile course. Uncle Billy's Day Race Results Some GREAT Pictures of the Race! Special thanks to Scott Rigler Soccer Camp............ English Park August 3-5 5:00-6:30 p.m. 7-11 years of age 6:45- 8:30 p.m. 12 and up Instructors: Adam Godwin and John Grzenda Fall Sports Registration...... Registration is being held through July 31 for: Baseball: Boys ages 7-11 Soccer: Boys and girls 4-14 Volleyball: Girls ages 8-14 Summer Dance........... July 8-August 14 Children 6 and up Instructor: Beth Keatts Family Center Security System Installed.... To provide better safety and security for the Family Center and it's child care programs, a new security system has been installed. All participants will need to use their access to code to enter the building. Codes are available at the Family Center front desk. Altavista YMCA/Arts Council....
Art Exhibit.... The Altavista Area YMCA is pleased to announce the Nancy J. Wood art show. Her work which is called "Organized Abstract" will be on display through mid September. The works of Emily Thompson are also on display through September. Vista Flix........
